FOOTBALLER of the Year Brian Omony drove off yesterday with his award, a Toyota Corona car.
The KCC player, flanked by his coach George Nsimbe, received the car keys from Nile Special Brand Manager Timothy Kayondo at the Golf Course Hotel in Kampala.
He won the Anfield Communications organised inaugural Nile Special and FUFA top award last weekend. Other winners will receive their cash prizes later this week.
Sharing 2 Victors 2
Simon Serunkuuma helped Kakungulu Cup holders Victors FC to a priceless 2-2 draw against an enterprising Sharing FC in the Uganda Super League at Nakivubo yesterday, reports Fred Kaweesi.
The league debutants however, felt hard done by after twice taking deserved leads through Musa Nuru and Walter Simiu in the 13th and 77th minutes respectively. Eric Sebuguzi snatched Victors’ first goal before Serunkuuma’s equaliser.
Express will know their fate today, when FUFA makes a ruling following the Red Eagles abandoned Super League match against Bunamwaya. The FUFA Competitions Committee asked Express to defend themselves against accusations of inciting their fans to force the abandonment. |
