
Uganda Cranes captain Ibrahim Sekagya tops the list of the inaugural Nile Special Fufa awards 2008 scheduled for September 21.
Sekagya, 28 who plays his club football with Austria club Red Bull Salzburg, is nominated for three awards.
“We have short listed the names for Fufa awards in five categories and Sekagya tops the lot,” Aldrine Nsubuga Snr. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Anfield Communications Ltd, the organisers of the event told KickOffEastAfrica.com.
Sekagya is in line for Most Valuable Player (MVP), Best Professional and Football of the Year.
URA FC goalkeeper Abby Dhaira is nominated for Most Promising award along with Mike Azira (SC Villa) and Mike Mutyaba (Bunamwaya).
George Nsimbe who guided KCC FC to first league title in 11 years is in line for best coach award.
