Bunamwaya lose six points

BUNAMWAYA FC has suffered an early setback in 2008/2009 Super League, losing six points for fielding a suspended player.

The Competitions Committee ruled yesterday that Bunamwaya forfeits three points to Kinyara and another three to Nalubaale for fielding Hakim Senkumba who was yet to serve his suspension carried forward from last season where he played for Kinyara.

Committee secretary Moses Magogo said that it was discovered that Senkumba was sent off in the 2007/8 league match between Maroons and Kinyara.

Senkumba had served his suspension in only one match in the 2007/8 season. He was supposed to miss three matches.

“In pursuant to rule L44 of the 2008/9 Super League, the results of the match have been annulled and Nalubaale FC has been awarded three points and two goals for that match. Kinyara Sugar FC has also been awarded three points and two goals,” Magogo said in a statement last night.

Senkumba will still serve his suspension of two extra Super League matches.
