Sekagya scores again in Uefa Cup

Ibrahim Sekagya scored his second Uefa Cup goal of the season as Red Bull Salzburg took a giant step of qualifying for group stage.

The Austrian side beat Suduva Marijompola (Lithuania) 4-1 away on Thursday.

The return match is scheduled in two weeks time.

Just like in a match against Armenia's Banants in the earlier round, the Uganda defender scored the opener after 42 minutes to cancel out the home side’s goal which came after 31 minutes.

In the second half striker Marco Janko scored a brace from the spot (57, 61) and Mahop put the result beyond the Lithuanian team.

The win was a perfect response for the 28-year old Cranes skipper who was sent off on Sunday during his team’s 3-2 defeat away to Austria Vienna over the weekend.

Sekagya has now scored three goals this season.

Sekagya was voted Player of the Year by his Austrian club last season.

The defender joined the club last July from Argentina side Arsenal de Serandi for 1.5-million Euros.
