For the second week running striker Patrick Ssenfuka came to the rescue of defending League champions KCC FC with a late winner.
Ssenfuka netted in the 88th minute to guide KCC to victory against Boroboro Tigers 1-0 in Lira to the delight of coach George Nsimbe.“It was a difficult match but the boys were up to it,” Nsimbe told KickOffEastAfrica.com.
The 2007 champions URA FC came from a goal down to beat Iganga Town Council 2-1 at Ssaza Grounds to go top of the National Super League table on goal-difference.
Martin Muwanga scored twice to take his season’s tally to four.
“It is still too early to start celebrating but the two wins gives us confidence,” Moses Basena coach of URA said.
At Namboole, SC Villa recorded their first win of the season edging out Lira side Youfra courtesy of an Emma Okwi goal.
In Masindi, Cranes striker Caesar Okuthi grabbed his first goal of the season to give new coach Jackson Mayanja a winning start. Bunnamwaya beat home side Kinyara Sugar Works 2-1.
Aloysius Lubega had given Kinyara the lead in the first half before Boban Zirintusa levelled matters a minute into the second half.
Police FC also recovered from last week’s defeat as they overcame Kakira 1-0 at Bugembe Stadium.
Express also recorded their second win in as many matches beating Maji 2-1 while Victors and Mbarara drew 1-1.
Simba, Express, Bunnamwaya, KCC and URA are joint table leaders with six points from two games apiece.
