Fufa approves Simba Stadium

Fufa Competition Committee (FCC) has confirmed that Simba FC will play Sharing FC in a USL fixture on Friday. The stadium is situated in Bombo Barrack, 34km north of Kampala.
“We are satisfied with the revamping of the stadium and have given the army club the go ahead,” Engineer Moses Magogo, secretary of FCC, told Kick Off East Africa.com.

Asked whether it is healthy to play league matches in barracks, Magogo replied: “As competition committee, we are satisfied with the player’s safety. If the fans misbehave, the club knows the consequences.”

Simba, on Monday, received a boost towards the renovation of their stadium when City Tyres and City Oil companies handed the $3000 to Brigadier Hussein Adda, chairman of the project.

“In the past seasons we have been spending money to hire pitches in Kampala, but we felt we could do better with our home ground,” the chairman said.

Simba, who struggled last season, have opened the new campaign with two wins in as many matches.
