Reigning League champions KCC FC have maintained their good start to the season after a 2-0 win over newly-promoted side Youfra at Nakivubo Stadium on Wednesday.
The win puts them top of the table with nine points from their opening three matches, at least for 48 hours.URA will regain top position on goal difference if they win their match at home to Maji on Friday.
Sam Mubiru (46 min) and Vincent Kayizzi (72 min) scored the goals.
But George Nsimbe, the coach of the team that has stretched their undefeated run to 16 matches (15 wins, 1draw) since he took over the reins in April, was not happy with his team’s showing.
“We were below par but I will take the win,” Coach Nsimbe said.
Rivals Villa recorded their second win of the season with a resounding 4-1 win over another newly promoted side Kakira Sugar FC. Striker Emanuel Okwi is Villa man on form, scoring twice to take his tally of the season to four goals.
The 24-year-old striker was promoted to senior side from Jogoo Young, the club’s junior side.
Chrisestom Ntambi and Geoffrey Luutu were the other scorers. Ali Okito pulled one back for Kakira from the spot.
The League resumes on Friday with seven matches.
